Reaction to Occupy Wall Street

The right's reaction to Occupy Wall Street is something to marvel at. To see Eric Cantor voice his "concern" over the "mobs" that have gathered in New York (and across the world) when he himself stood in solidarity with the Tea Party "mobs" (aren't weasel words fun?) that broke out across the country after 2008. To see Fox News pretend that Occupy Wall Street isn't a spontaneous grassroots movement and that all the protesters are loony Maoists when they openly propped up the Tea Party movement (here's an excellent rundown: link). I'm in stitches. This is some of the finest comedy the world has ever seen.

It would be, anyway, if they weren't serious.

For the politicians, it's nothing new: double standards (Tea Party mobs?), hypocrisy (Tea Party mobs?), lies (Occupy Wall Street doesn't have a message), etc (War on Christimas)., but it seems especially egregious here since both OWS and those Tea Party folks might have a lot in common if the Fox News media machine hadn't already assured them that they were sworn mortal enemies like Sub-Zero and Scorpion.

That's all I really got right now in the way of thoughts. More to come.
